La Amistad International Park, located in Costa Rica, is one of these special places in the world with a particular charming, where you can contemplate incredible landscapes of singular beauty.

This spectacular area of about 494210.7 acres, that was declared world heritage and reserve of the biosphere by UNESCO, is located in Talamanca Mountain Range, and it is part of the biggest wildlife territory in Costa Rica.

There, you can go hiking through unique places that will let you agape or walk through great natural quality ecosystems which are full of life as there is a wide range of plants and animals species. La Amistad has a great number of trails to explore every part of the park so you can enjoy this gift of nature. Below, you will find a list of the most important ones:

- Los Gigantes del Bosque Trail: Starting in Altamira de Biolley, this 0.93 miles trail is not very well preserved. However, it is still worthy as it goes through a wood where there are 131.23 ft trees including cedars that dwell different animal species like monkeys, birds or insects.

- Valle del Silencio Trail: Comprising 8.70 miles and starting in Altamira, this one is well preserved and allows you to go through different kinds of woods while observing Río Grande de Térraba Valley where there are oak and avocado trees that dwell hummingbirds, finches, resplendent quetzals and monkeys. A fauna that, without any doubt, will make a lively and unforgettable experience of your travel.  

- Cerro Kamuk Trail: this 16.16 miles trail goes from Las Tres Colinas de Potrero Grande to Cerro Kamuk, a 11630.58 ft hill which stands as the second highest in the country. Amaze yourself and have an incredible experience while walking through its amazing landscapes that dwell oak woods, monkeys, resplendent quetzals and tapirs.

- Sabana de Esperanza Trail: through its 2.24 miles you will discover the beauty of the impressive Costa Rican nature while finding a huge number of fauna and flora species or an indigenous graveyard that will let you agape.

- Cerro de Cabécar Trail: through its 7.46 miles you will observe incredible landscapes of the Pacific Ocean, Del Caño Island and Osa Peninsula that will let you agape. From Cerro Kamuk, landscapes are even better as Kamuk, Crestones, Fábrega Hills and Barú Volcano, in Panama, create a superb natural scenery.

- Estación Pittier-Catarata Trail: this 1.37 miles trail is the perfect option for those who enjoy going bird-watching. Even when there live some large mammals such as tapirs and jaguars, you mustn’t be afraid and have the assurance that your holidays will turn into an unforgettable experience completed with the sight of an impressive waterfall at the end of your travel.  

- Casa Coca-Pittier Trail: this is a short trail of about 3.91 miles which is perfect to go bird-watching. Moreover, you will find a huge number of river sources where jaguars and tapirs come to drink some fresh water.
