Bahía Culebra (Culebra Bay), with its snake-like shape, attracts lots of international and national tourists. This natural area has turned into a biological model of Guanacaste due to the well preservation of its natural environment as well as the wide variety of species that inhabits this region.
The bay waters come from the north of the Pacific Ocean, where there are a great number of cliffs and rugged rocks that give a special charm to the area.
In Bahía Culebra, some of the most important beaches of the province are located. Some of them are Playa Nancite, Playa Nacascolo and Playa Iguanita Beaches. Near the last one it is placed Iguanita Wildlife Shelter and Manzanillo Beach. There, you can practice water sports and chill on the beach.

One of Bahía Culebra main features is the excellent quality of its waters, that house a valuable natural ecosystem. Furthermore, it is a model for archaeologists, since there, certain pre-Columbian settlements have been discovered.
