Bahia Junquillal National Wildlife Refuge is a natural model for the Costa Ricans since, even though it is not a large area, it houses a great wildlife diversity formed by monkeys, raccoons, parrots, and many more, which is possible to observe while hiking its green paths.
But, undoubtedly, its main distinctive feature are the crystalline waters of its unspoilt beaches, Junquillal and isla Muñeca, both together forming one of the most impressive landscapes of Guanacaste. Tourists are allowed to practice water sports on these beaches, for example, diving and snorkeling.
Among the many paths that the park has, the most outstanding ones are Carao, Estero Seco, and La Laguna. All along these paths, it is possible to contact with the authentic Guanacaste nature, and admire its wild mangroves and impressive dry forests.
Bahia Junquillal National Wildlife Refuge has camping, picnic, and caravaning areas, among many more services.
Undoubtedly, this park a natural attraction that you should not miss if you are traveling to Guanacaste, in Costa Rica.
