One of the main features of the city is the color that reigns in it thanks to its magnificent gardens and parks. From that point we can understand that its nickname is “the city of the flowers”, of course due to the diverse and intense flower colors.

Heredia has lots of colonial buildings that stand out due in part to their simple lines and multiple colors. One of the most symbolic and spectacular monuments of Heredia is the Iglesia de la Inmaculada Church; this impressive church is outstanding due to its evident colonial style and amazing stained glass windows. This church is located next to Heredia’s Central Park, which has become a meeting point and party area for the city’s inhabitants.

Besides, the city of Heredia houses an incredible Culture Center and the campus of one of the best national universities, which gives to the city a casual and cultural essence. Heredia is also considered to be one of the leading Costa Rican cities in biological and environmental studies.

And, as it clearly had to be, Heredia’s cuisine is amazing; there, you will be able to enjoy the most ecological and traditional courses.
