A few years ago, this charming village was just known because of the Virgin Mary. According to the legend, she appeared on this place, and that is why the village started being visited by pilgrims and believers in Easter. But recently, rafting has become more and more popular in this area due to the rapids on the Rio Sarapiqui, which are very appreciated by rafting and kayaking lovers.
There are rapids for every difficulty level, from the calm and pleasant level I, to the exciting and thrilling level IV.
La Virgen is a beautiful village, covered by the thick fog of the virgin forest that surrounds it, where adventure and amusement are guaranteed.
