Playa Mal País is one of the best-known beaches in Puntarenas thanks to its great waves and its cheerful atmosphere, which make a perfect mix of fun and wonderful natural landscapes. Mal País Beach is known by all Costa Rican people as the Santa Teresa and Carmen group of beaches, located one next to the other.
Amongst the many different activities that can be practiced in this beach, the main water sports are diving and snorkeling. Nevertheless, the big waves and the beautiful landscape turn surf into the king of the sports. Besides, along its long shore, you can practice other activities such as pilates and yoga.
Playa Mal País is relevant for having a cheerful atmosphere thanks to the wide variety of bars, restaurants and hotels that you can find along the beach or in its little and charming village. Here you can taste its typical delicious dishes and fruity cocktails.
