Isla Tortuga Island is formed by two little islands close to each other: Alcatraz Island, turtle-shaped; and Tolinga Island. Both of them belong to the Puntarenas Canton, in Costa Rica. These wonderful islands, also known as Tortugas islands, are located in the Nicoya Gulf, very close to the Nicoya peninsula, in front of the Curú Wildlife Refuge, in the Costa Rican shore of the Pacific Ocean.

This beautiful place is one of the main natural attractions in Costa Rica because of its incomparable flora and fauna, which are perfectly preserved thanks to a minimum human impact. For this reason, Tortuga Island has no accommodations, nor any type of facilities.

One of the beauties that makes of it a unique island is its virgin beach, a breathtaking beach of crystalline turquoise blue waters where you can practice activities such as snorkeling and discover the great marine biodiversity of the Pacific area, in Costa Rica.
