The Teatro Municipal (Municipal Theater) of Alajuela is located just in front of Central Park’s northern end. It is a neo-colonial building with a facade inspired in the art decó style.
After being remodeled several times, today it is a good showcase for Costa Rica’s performing arts. Lots of the plays represented there are completely for free, an incentive for Alajuela’s inhabitants to attend en masse.
Apart from the plays, they also carry out some cultural activities, for example dance and live music events.
Come and mix with the locals whilst finding out more about their arts and culture on your trip to Costa Rica’s second biggest city.
