San Rafael of Escazú is different from the others because of the modernity of its buildings, just like its busy shopping malls. You can also contemplate the colonial church that it located at the square of the neighbourhood. In San Miguel of Escazú, the traditional way of life remains present because the mud houses are decorated with a striking blue strip and have a colonial style, which creates an ancient era look. In the neighbourhood of San Antonio of Escazú is where agricultural communities of San José live. On the other hand, If you have the opportunity to travel to the capital on early March, you can not miss one of the most attractive festivities of the capital: the Oxherd Day. It is celebrated on the second Sunday of March and a promenade of carts loaded with flowers in honour of the drivers of ox carts take place following a route that extends from San Miguel Arcángel Church to San Antonio de Padua Church. This festivity is celebrated since 1988, and cart drivers from San Carlos, Alajuela and Paraíso de Cartago participate.
One of the biggest attractions of Escazú is the most important handmade cabinet maker workshop of Costa Rica: Barry Biesanz Woodworks Workshop, which is located in Bello Horizonte Neighbourhood and where the smartest and most sophisticated furnitures are made in order to sell them in the most exclusive shops of the country.
