The Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de la Soledad (Nuestra Señora de la Soledad Church) is a monumental church located in the capital's downtown. It dazzles for its white coloured spotless facade.
The church should be a must-see visit if you are looking forward to meet one of the most appreciated and beloved virgins for the locals: the Virgen de la Soledad. You can also contemplate other images of great historical and artistic value like the Sagrada Familia. The baptismal font was built of Italian marble. In addition, one of the greatest attractions of the church are its beautiful stained glass windows where the fourteen Stations of the Cross are depicted.
Inside this stunningly beautiful church, you can find a blue dome that simulates the Costa Rican beautiful sky, and the enormous columns that are surmounted by gold capitals, which escort the visit to the altar. Next to it, the huge pipe organ accompanies the masses that are celebrated in this sacred building with its music.
