The Museo Histórico Agrícola Santa Ana (Santa Ana Historical Agricultural Museum) exhibits one of the most rustic collections in Costa Rica, in which you can discover the history of agriculture and the Costa Rican coffee production boom. The museum also houses a huge number of curiosities like legends, ancient stories and traditions.
The Museo Histórico Agrícola Santa Ana is located at the Santa Ana Conservation Centre. This centre is an attraction on itself, where you can enjoy many places such as green areas, picnics, paths, a farm, and also an aviary, among other things.
The museum has different exhibitions such as “La casona”, “El beneficio del café”, “Los patios de beneficio” and the exhibition room for agricultural machines, in which you can find one of the most innovative and productive machines of the museum: a trapiche (a mill used to extract the juice of some fruits). The museum's tour passes within La Lornessa country house, in where you can interact with the natural environment of the country’s estate.
Santa Ana Historical-Agricultural Museum has become one of the must-see museums in your trip to San José.
