Parque Diversiones is, without doubt, the best place to have a good time with the entire family in San José. It is a theme park designed for adults and children where you can enjoy a wide variety of activities such as water slides, a big wheel, two roller coasters, a free fall, horse rides, an electric train among many others.

Besides the attractions, with which you can pump up adrenalin, Diversiones Park has other theme park that is called Old Village, an enclosed area created for visitants who want to know how the Costa Rican life from the end of nineteenth century and the beginning of the twentieth century really was.

Old Village has a safe and quiet atmosphere, in where you can stroll and meet how Costa Rican people lived at that time. You can find a church, a market, a fire station, a bank and a railroad station: all buildings built following a traditional architectural style. In Old Village there are mud constructions from those times such as a coffee grinder, a sugar mill, another one for milking livestock, and so on. It has also a traditional farm with live animals and horse-drawn carriages.

In Old Village, fun is also guaranteed, because you can watch some performances by characterised actors with traditional costumes that will offer diverse shows like music and dance from that time, theatre plays, passacaglia (Spanish dance), masquerades, etc.

Diversiones Park has various restaurants and food stands, where you can rest or have a snack, so you can taste the Costa Rican traditional food. Additionally, it has craft shops, where you can buy original souvenirs on your visit to San José.
