The Museo Filatélico y Numismático (Philatelic and Numismatics Museum) is located on the first floor of the Central Post Office of Costa Rica.
The Museo Filatélico y Numismático works as the main post office of the country, and it is one of Costa Rica’s must-see buildings, because it has an impressive neo-Renaissance architectural structure.
The museum has four large and fascinating rooms, in where you can get to know the history of the postal service and the development of communications in Costa Rica. It is important to highlight the collections of stamps, antique telephones and telegraphs. The Museo Filatélico y Numismático houses one of the most complete collections on the country´s history of communication.
The museum has other services such as guided tours, a cafeteria and a souvenir shop, where you can buy original souvenirs like stamps or postcards.
