Plaza de la Cultura has become the main meeting centre for Costa Rican people in San José. The buildings that surround the square are cultural and architectural references such as the Pre-Columbian Gold Museum, the Numismatics Museum, the National Theatre and the Mora Fernández Park.
This square was built between 1975 and 1983, and it is located on the convergence amongst the Central Avenue, 2nd Avenue, and 5th Street. This square has become a reference for Costa Rican social events, where you can enjoy a lively environment with the musicians or have a coffee.
If you want to interact with the Costa Rican people, do not hesitate to visit Plaza de la Cultura.
