The Museo de Numismática Museum is located inside the Central Bank of Costa Rica’s building, which is one of the most modern and emblematic buildings of the country because it has one of the most complex architectural structures.
The building has three underground levels where you can find diverse permanent and temporary exhibitions, but without doubt, one of the most interesting things is that in the same building it is housed one of the most important Costa Rican history museums: the Pre-Columbian Gold Museum.
The museum has a wide collection of coins, notes and leaflets from colonial times, and also authentic copies of private coins that were used for the coffee trade.
The museum has also guided tour services, with which you can enjoy the pleasant talks and visual exhibitions. In addition, you can find an interesting blog and a multimedia application in the museum's website, that allow you to get to know the surroundings and the curiosities of the museum. It also has cafés and shops where you can buy souvenirs of the museum.
Do not hesitate to visit one of the widest and most interesting coin collections in the Costa Rican capital, the Numismatics Museum.
